[Solved] Update for extensions fails to download

I keep getting the update for extensions notification icon in the top right-hand corner. When I click on it I get a message 'Error reading data from the Internet. Server error message'.
When I click OK a dialogue box appears saying language Tool version 4.5.1 and provides an install button.
Clicking the install button the download and installation dialogue box appears with a full green line at the top, hangs for maybe a minute then disappears and the update icon reappears.

Could anyone please explain what is happening and how I can install the update?

I am on Windows 10 Home, version 1809 and my default browser is Edge.

Try
http://www.languagetool.org
and download the extension. Then double click it to install it.

Thanks for that RoryOF it has worked. It did seem to take some time and a restart but that's great. Thanks for your help.
