3D chart-% data no show outside each segment

Hello all.

I am constructing a 3D graph.

I have successfully solved part of a problem, and the addition and calculation of percentage of total, separately, for each of 6 components.

For some reason, I am unable to have the calculated percentages for each of the segments show outside the segment. I suspect that this is a chart element issue, but can’t be sure. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have revised the file to make it clearer. It is the 3D chart/graph that I am concentrating on.

Column G in the data file, "% of Total", each of the cell entries is now correct. I had attempted to do the following:

i) G11, both sum G5-G10, and ROUND to 100 in the one formula. This did not work.

ii) With the error removed, the issue of no data showing outside each segment of the 3D chart/graph remains.

See the modified formulas in the column G and the concatenated textual labels in the column H.
These labels are applied to the legend and as data labels of the graph.

Thanks very much-much appreciated. Did I read somewhere that you're a lecturer in spreadsheets?

If so, that might explain your very sophisticated formulae.

I am still taking “baby steps” at this stage. Despite my example purportedly of an abbreviated, complex content, it is all relative.

I understand the part about the legend.

I don’t know about the data labels.

What I am trying to create, is like you’ve shown here, but stripped back:

Legend as simple, in a horizontal line, without the percentages, and under Title as shown

And the percentages for all, as shown in your “Cookery 14,74%” label, but without the content description ie. “cookery”, and the percentages rounded up to nearest whole number.

Would there be any simpler formulae?

Just adjust the properties of the graph (data ranges - y values, data labels... etc...)

Right click - Data Ranges - Data series (TAB)

Insert - Data Labels - Data Labels (TAB)
