[Solved] Create input field: default text over-written

Post by LeroyTennison »

I have seen input fields (don't remember where) that have default text but, when you begin keying into the field, the default text is totally deleted. As an example, an input field has default text "First Name" which, after the first character is keyed in the field, totally disappears leaving only what was typed. Is this possible in Writer? If so, how? Thanks.

You can use the "Tips" instead of the default text.
The property of the Input field named "Reference" will appeared as a Tip. (Tried in my LibreOffice 6.1.5)

That's an interesting alternative i wasn't aware of, thanks. I use Apache where it's named Help Text but it's the same functionality.
