Graphics filter not found
And DON'T tell me it is too large, the jpg is only 182kb. This has been going on for a few weeks. Even if it is a picture copied and pasted or on local drive. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled. It doesn't help. Or I get this (pictures in reverse order):

Re: Graphics filter not found
A .jpg works for me using an out-of-the-box install of OO 4.1.6 on Xubuntu 18.04.2. Does the .jpg file open in an application outside of OpenOffice, an application such as a graphics editor (I mean, specificly, not a browser)?

Re: Graphics filter not found
The byte size of the compressed picture is not relevant. The resource requirement for the unpacked file is determined by pixel size and color depth. And DON'T tell me it is too large, the jpg is only 182kb.
Can you share the problematic picture here?

Re: Graphics filter not found
Have you tried to open the file in a picture manager and save it again? There may be some meta data that confuses the import filter.

I'm having the same problem. I am writing a travel book with a lot of photos. I used the same photos in another writing program. It seems when I get to a certain point, the program starts giving me the "No Graphics Filter" error message, no matter which photo I try to insert.

Re: Graphics filter not found
The topic of this thread is the error "Graphics filter not found". You quoted the error as "No Graphics Filter". Are you getting that different message or did you misquote it?

The section in your file appears to be Write protected.Rumblesis wrote:I try to copy/paste or insert a jpg into writer, and get Graphics filter not found.

Re: Graphics filter not found
I tried to insert a picture and nothing happens. The picture does not appear. I tried to paste a different picture and same result.
I had to close the program and reopen it with the same file and then it allowed me to insert the picture with no problem.

Please upload a file showing the problem so that it can be analysed. Use the Upload attachment tab below where you type (128 kB max); or use a file share site, Dropbox or Google Drive for a larger file.
A full description helps people to understand what is happening whereas a description with no details is not helpful. It's like saying "My car won't go" - it does not say anything useful.
Please describe in full detail exactly what you are doing. Say something like
1. I have a .odt file which already has xx images in it. It is XX Mbytes.
2. When I go Insert > Picture > From file ..., and I navigate to a photo (JPG) image the image does not insert. Describe exactly what does happen and exactly what windows pop up and what message you receive.
3. Download this file. Can you insert an image into it? Use Insert > Picture > From file ..., and navigate to a photo.
