Permanently reset default margins

The margins for a new doc default to 0.79 on all four sides. I can go to Format > Page to reset the current doc, but how do I reset the margins to my preference permanently?

Alter your default template.

Alter your default template.

...There is only one Default template. If you need various "default properties" for your various type of documents, then you can use your own template files with the desired formatting properties and styles.
