Continuous save

Post by THEBookMan »

Using:
AOO416m1(Build:9790) - Rev. 1844436
2018-10-23 12:57

for 3 weeks now, OO has gotten into a continuous save where I have to <CTR>-ALT-DEL and "end task".
Has become more often this week. Very annoying because I have to go back and redo the last operations.

I have AutoSave set at 1 min from 4 min, but happens just as often.

Do I need to "REPAIR" or "REINSTALL"?

1 min AutosSave is too often, even the 4 min is too often in my opinion...
If you want save one or more huge file/s/, the AutoSave can not finishing the previous process, but it must start the next saving process. Set the intervall at least to 10...15 min.

If it is a slow save (i.e. more than 1 minute - we don't know what is happening by way of tidy-up after the actual save) , the 1 min interval may not allow it finish the behind the scenes housekeeping and kick into another save.

Try 15 or 30 minutes, just to see.

Is it just with one spreadsheet file? Or with all files?

Which strongly suggests that file is the cause of the problem. Have you a "circular" problem where a calculation changes one of the cells involved in doing the calculation so the calculation gets done again which changes the cell again ..., and so on ad infinitum?

Upload the file for someone to have a look at it.

Did a complete uninstall - reinstall of current files (SourceForge)

Still have the problem.

You wanted to see the file or program?
Let me know and I will give you access to my 'puter.

Won't change anything if you don't reset your OpenOffice user profile.
