[Solved] Adding new fonts to Writer

Post by jayoh »

I have downloaded a specific font, in this case, Celtic Hand Font to my W10 system.
How do I import that new font to the drop-down menu box under fonts?

You do not "add a font to Writer". You "install a font to Windows 10" and Writer finds it. Google install font windows.

Showing that a problem has been solved helps others searching so, if your problem is now solved, please view your first post in this thread and click the Edit button (top right in the post) and add [Solved] in front of the subject.

See the Writer Guide, the Writer FAQ, the Writer Tutorials and Writer for students.

Remember: Always save your Writer files as .odt files. - see here for the many reasons why.

As John_Ha says. Also, from memory, the fonts installed on the computer are only found when OO starts up.

Thanks so much. I get it and it worked. I must use Writer more since MickeySoft deleted an old copy of Word.
