[Solved]Group splits on pages w/o header repeating on new pg

Post by pizzipie »

The attached files show my problem much better than I can explain it.

In spite of what it says above I am using LibreOffice V. 6.0.7.3 Ubuntu 16.04.

Thanks for your help in advance.

On the Group Header properties dialog try setting Repeat Section to Yes.

When I do that it makes a new page for each record!!!

Is there no place that explains the workings of Group Settings? I can't find any.

There is some documentation in the Reports chapter of the LO Base Handbook
https://documentation.libreoffice.org/e ... tion/base/
and
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/SUN_Re ... umentation
but I think development and documentation stopped in the SUN to Oracle transition.

Other thoughts
Have you tried to use Mail Merge?
Sometimes displaying the data on a spreadsheet and printing from there works better than the Report Builder.

I never thought about the support being lost when Sun went away!

Great idea about mail merge.

Thanks for help. I will give this some thought and try it out. Might be easier to accomplish too.
