Adding columns

since i updated to 4.1.6 my columns that i want a sum only return 0. never had a problem like this with the previous version. thank you
openoffice 4.1.6 on windows 8

Check what data types are in the columns. Turn on /View /Value highlighting to see.

Without hands-on of the actual sheet, we can only guess.
 Edit: I have just made a test - the Sum function is working correctly for me.

Without hands-on of your file, how can anyone advise?

What do you see when you enable /View /Value highlighting?
