Post by willlatta »

Following prompts to download the new version of apache open office 4.1.6 i did so, and now can't open .xls files. (See above).
Suggestions welcome. I'm sure its very simple to remedy but I am very stupid.

What exactly is the error message that you are recieving?

How are you trying to open the xls files--from within AOO or a double-click/Open with on the xls files?

1. Download this file
2. Place it on your desktop
3. Start AOO
4. Go File > Open ..., and navigate to the file.

Does it open?

Repeat with your files.

hello,
thanks for replies.
The message is read=error
internal input error
together in a small window mid screen. I tried the test xls, same result. i managed to open the file (my 17-18 income file) by downloading the previous version. In future will save in odt, it won't inconvenience me.

That is rather strange. I am running Windows 7 and I can open all the .docx files on my PC, from 2kB to 400kB, without problems.

I wonder if it will turn out to be an AOO on MacOS problem?
