Why can't we turn off and on the Footer and Header from Print > Options?
It's not user friendly to have to close the print settings then go to Format > Page> Header > click > then Footer > click > okay > File > Print> Print. That's way to many clicks for something as simple as turning on and off the Header and Footer before a print?
This would be a million times better.
Print > Options > Header / Footer - on / off
I had to Google how to do this and saw heaps of other people also had the same problem.
Can you please made OpenOffice more user friendly?

I can not understand your "problem". The Footers and the Headers are NOT visible during editing a Calc document. It will be visible only in the Print preview and on the paper/PDF export. Why can't we turn off and on the Footer and Header from Print > Options?

Why you need an user defined Footer or a Header in the applied Page styles, if you want NOT print/export it? Switch off them permanently in the applied page styles .
You can write a macro to switch on/off the Footer and the Header by one click in the relevant Page Styles: You do not have to wait for the developers...

+1 @Zizi64.
In addition:
Settings for Header and Footer are per page style, and the assignment of page styles is per sheet. Thus any dialogue offerimg a way to set something concerning Header or Footer would need to either
- override and change all the settings already made the proper way or
- overlay them for all pages by one temporary setting or
- offer a way to do it for each sheet one by one.
None of those options would satisfy many users, I'm afraid. To do it only for users not_knowing_of/not_applying sheet styles wouldn't be an efficient usage of scarce human resources in development.
