[Solved] How Do I Make Non-Printing Characters Visible?

Post by skuddle »

I would like to see non-printing characters (tabs, paragraph marks, etc.) in my text boxes. How do I set that up?

Since you posted on the Draw forum the correct answer is that you can't make them visible, I'm afraid. You may copy the text box content to a Writer window.
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.

Villeroy is right, of course.

@skuddle: You are stubbornly pulling at the wrong end. Presuming you are still working on your labels:

You don't need any TextBoxes. You need a suitable desingn for data keeping and for creating labels from the data als well. Having complained about the time you wasted with CorelDraw you shouldn't be fond of wasting as much time with LibO Draw now. Since you did not yet look into the raw example I attached to my last post in your other thread, I would suggest you do now and look at a print preview. Then you should tell us what's wromg with it.
(By the way: The label height of 13.8 cm given there is a typo. The correctly applied value is 11.85 cm.)

Well, I will not annoy you with my smart-aleck comments any more.
On Windows 10: LibreOffice 24.2 (new numbering) and older versions, PortableOpenOffice 4.1.7 and older, StarOffice 5.2

I don't consider any of your remarks, or any of the remarks of others who have responded, as "smart-alec". I find them to be very helpful to me as I am beginning my work with LO Draw.
