[Solved] Unable to open an important odt file (Read error)

Post by exta »

Hello,
I have an important odt file that I can't open anymore, I get the error " Read error. Format error discovered in the file in sub-document content.xml at 296.13(row,col). "
I've tried to fix it using the tutorial on this page viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1532 without success.
Any help is welcomed since this is a really important document.
The file has been updated here : https://ufile.io/qdm87
Thanks !

Please send me a PM with an email address to which I can send the repaired file.

I will be going offline shortly for 8 hours.

File sent this morning.

One reason the location is suggested as an entry in the Forum profile is so users can get an idea of the timezone of responders to queries.

This is a bug in AOO, but not in LO, when track changes is ON and a user deletes two comments each of which is attached to a range of characters.

See Issue 128356 - Track Changes and Annotations on text range can cause corruption. Applies to 4.x (all versions?)
LO 6.4.4.2, Windows 10 Home 64 bit

See the Writer Guide, the Writer FAQ, the Writer Tutorials and Writer for students.

Remember: Always save your Writer files as .odt files. - see here for the many reasons why.
