[Solved] Loss of OpenOffice

Post by donburt369 »

I have used Open Office for several years but when I tried to open it a few days ago, it would not open. When I click to open it, there is a little circle that goes around for about five seconds and then quits. Nothing happens.
Can anyone tell me what my problem might be?

Try this: Start TaskManager (ctrl shift Esc) and kill any soffice processes shown on TM's tabs. Note "soffice", with an initial "s".

This may happen if the computer or OO crashes, or if the computer is closed down over-hastily after closing OpenOffice - it takes a few seconds longer than one thinks to write the housekeeping information.
