[Solved] Dots between words and paragraph after each line

Any idea why I am getting the Paragraph sign (backwards P) at the end of every line and a dot between words? (Not a period)?

Yes: you have View | Non-printing Characters enabled; the dot represents the Space character.

These characters are shown on the display only - they do not print. For fancy formatting they can be most useful. Toggle their display by /View /non printing characters or press the backwards P button on the OO toolbar.

A pilcrow at the end of each line is an indication that the Enter key was pressed at the end of each line instead at the end of the paragraph. That's a practice used on typewriters. It's not necessary with word processing software and will cause problems with word wrapping at the end of lines if the font or margin is changed or the document is viewed on a different computer which has to substitute a different font.

Thank you guys! I also suddenly found dots had appeared between every word in 650 pages of text. The fix was helpful!
