Printing
am using windows 7 -- just changed printers and new printer is shown as default printer --- but open office says it cannot start the printer ---

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Try to reset your OpenOffice user profile. It may be needed so that it recognizes again your printer.
As a workaround, you can export in PDF first and then print that PDF but it does not fix the issue at all.

Did you close AOO and re-start it after installing the printer?
