I have a client who only wants to be able to save as JPEG. I can remove the Save menu options, but Exit still asks for a Save location.
Is there a way to suppress Save on Exit, and add Export on Exit instead?
Thanks in advance.........Phil
How can I Export to JPEG on Exit, instead of Save?

Re: How can I Export to JPEG on Exit, instead of Save?
You can't change the default save format to a format that doesn't save your work. That seems reasonable, no?
Of course, the client realizes that exporting to an image is not recoverable, right? You couldn't come back later and pick up where you left off, if all you have is an image file. However, you can do that if you save as an actual document. So I'm not sure what it would accomplish to do an "emergency" save--to keep from losing work--when the resulting saved image won't keep you from losing work.
Is it not possible to simply teach the client the safe way: always save as an actual document, then export the image?

Re: How can I Export to JPEG on Exit, instead of Save?
The client does realise that the JPEG format is final, and can't be reloaded. What they want is a quick and uncomplicated way to generate JPEG images in one pass, so not having an emergency save is OK.
In fact I've succeeded in the following actions towards what they've requested:

- File menu is restricted to New, Export..., Properties..., Templates, Print..., Printer Settings... and Exit...
- Customising the Splash screen and the Title bar.
- Restrict the Export filters to just JPEG.
- Stop the Exit option requesting a Save.

Re: How can I Export to JPEG on Exit, instead of Save?
As a workaround, you can use PDFCreator, it can save directly a document to a picture format like JPG or PNG.
LibreOffice 7.6.2.1 on Xubuntu 23.10 and 7.6.4.1 portable on Windows 10

I'd rather supply an add-on, or update, to OOo for my client, rather than a workaround. It looks more professional, and is less likely to be misused.
