Using Open Office 4.1.2 (Mac)
When modifying path options, I entered /volumes/verbatim 1t hd1/documents *2 for the default My Documents path. The path is a valid path on my machine.
I receive the error 'Inadmissible path. The input syntax is invalid." What is the problem and is there a workaround?

Re: inadmissible path
I never had a MAC, and I do not know anything about the paths of the MAC.
Is this your adjusted path precisely?
Do not use special characters in the path (spaces and * character). (There are spaces int middle of your path too.) Try it without these characters with a test path, that you created on your machine.
And what is the 'root' of the path in the MAC system?
A user defined path on the Windows looks like:
E:\Dokuments\Backup\LO\
where the 'E:' is a HDD.
Please share an original path of the AOO/LO settings from your MAC system.

Re: inadmissible path
I am able to define a default path in OO on linux using spaces. I suspect the problem arises from the use of the "*". Try using an underscore instead in your path definition.

Re: Inadmissible path
Thanks to both of you.Yes the * was the problem. I tried using a '-' and continued with the spaces; that worked.
I apologize for not responding earlier.

P.S. the full path is now /Volumes/verbatim 1T HD1/Documents -2
