Convert a PDF to an MP4 file

Post by DQbeginner »

I'm new to this forum and was wondering how to convert a PDF to an MP4 file. Can anyone give some advice? I appreciate it.

A PDF is a document format; an MP4 is a video format. Are these not incompatible?

Hi Rory, We are trying to put a menu up on a TV screen. We saved the menu (PDF) on a USB drive, plugged it in to our new smart TV. I didn't recognize it. We called the TV customer service. They said the pdf had to be converted to an mp4 file for the TV to recognize it. Thus the question .

If you have the original file from which the PDF was made, then there is an OpenOffice extension Impress video converter ; you could convert the source of the PDF file into an Impress file, then to a movie using that extension. But I doubt that this need has often arisen, so no advice on it may be offered.

As a pdf is an electronic image file and an mp4 is a video file are you trying to
make a slideshow that will display on the tv?

The mp4 is a container that holds an audio and a video stream.

Have you tried this online convertor?

Good luck.

Greengiant224,

Yes, we are just trying to put a document (menu) on a 65" smart TV. When we called the TV manufacturer they said that the document had to be saved as an mp4 file on our usb drive.

Thanks for the link! We will try it out.
