[Solved] Templates should be read-only

Post by jrickards »

I don't really like the way templates are handled.

When I open a template, I want it opened read-only automatically so that I am prompted for a new filename when I save a document based on that template.

If you open a new file from File > New > Templates and Documents, it opens it as an untitled document so you are prompted to give it a new file name when you save it and you can't over write the original template.

This same question came up the other day.

Does this help at all? http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... 794#p41282
