[SOLVED] How do I open a form in Design Mode?

Post by medicus11 »

Whenever I open the form for my database, it opens with the Design Mode off and I cannot find how to turn it back on so that I can continue with the design of the form.

Select the menu item View -> Toolbars -> Form Controls and then click the Design Mode button, which I have highlighted in red in the attached image.

Thanks FJCC, but that didn't work. The menu is visible and the Open in Design Mode button appears activated. However, no matter whether it is depressed or not, nothing changes on the form. It remains in user mode only.

Please upload your native .ods type example file with the form control elements.

When you open a database object, a table, query, form or report the object's structure is protected while you can view/edit the underlying data.
You can open any of these objects for editing. Select the object and call the "Edit" command from the "Edit" menu or from the context menu. The document will be opened with write access and in edit mode. When the form has been opened for editing you can switch between edit mode and data entry mode.
This forum has a huge section with Base tutorials and examples.
Please, edit this topic's initial post and add "[Solved]" to the subject line if your problem has been solved.
