Verdana Bold Italic - text disappear

hello all,
I've noticed a problem on the verdana font with every OO version on Windows 8.1 and above.

If I write something and then I change the font to Verdana Italic Bold, text disappear.
Zooming in and out sometimes it retourn visible, sometimes doesn't.

I suppose it depends on the version of the windows font becouse on windows 7 everything works fine (I noticed that the fonts version are different on the 2 OS).

Any ideas?

Is your operating system updated?

A similar issue was reported on Windows 10, but was closed because the problem disappeared after a Windows 10 update on 4 Jun 2016. I'm unable to reproduce the problem on Windows 10.

Remember that the font displayed in the document's Font selection box is the font the document is calling for at the cursor position. This is not necessarily the font being used to display the document because if you do not have the font being called installed on your PC, Windows (or other operating system) will silently substitute an available font without telling you.

The TestFonts add-on is invaluable to check which fonts are being called for, and which are missing and have been substituted.

I'm not sure if I understood what are you sayng but I ran TestFonts and it say: "Missing fonts - found: 0 times"

it seems to be the same problem! Also opening the file attached at that topic, zooming in I can see the text "(B7)" disappear.
My Win 8.1 is up to date. I'm testing also on a Win 10 with June cumulative update but I'm having the same problem...

I see it now. The problem only occurs at some zoom levels and not others. You might want to add a comment to the bug report to try and get it reopened.

The document font is like someone ordering a glass of red wine. The bar doesn't have any red wine left, so the barman brings him a glass of white wine.

You may well order something, but if the bar ain't got it, you get something else!

So you have the same problem?
I think it's an OO bug with this font version couse with others text editor SW, the file is correctly displayed
