RTD real time Data - self updating charts: How to ?

Post by JG101 »

Hello everyone...

RTD real time Data - self updating charts: How to ?

How do I get charts to update on their own, so I do not have to keep editing - copy / paste columns to manually update

thank you in advance for anyone providing help.

update: I did some research, in excel the user would put =offset(dynamic!$c$10,0,0,counta(dynamic!$c:$c)-1) (not sure if this would work, since i do not have excel)
for some reason OpenOffice does not except this,

I would to have Dynamic charts, were they self update. Is this possible?

what should i replace with?

When you say "update" are you modifying the numbers in the original series or adding a) to the series or b) adding a series?

Whats happening with the spreadsheet, data is being updated / imported from a server.

I have created charts associated with certain columns, as the spreadsheet is self-updating ( Real Time Data) the charts are not updating on their own. I have to manually update.

How do i get the charts to update when the data in the columns are updating with RTD (Real Time Data)?
constant data feed, columns are constantly updating but charts do not, how can this be fixed, as the columns are updating how do the charts automatically update?

(sry if i'm repeating myself in post, just making sure everyone understands what i'm trying to say)

How do you update a Calc document from a server? We can not know how these data get into the document. Normally (by manual editing) all references update as you insert/remove cells. Does that server run a program that produces spreadsheets? Then this program should be able to produce valid chart references.

Why do you work with a tool you don't understand?
Why do you use Calc if you do not even know its formula syntax?

RTD real time data,
create charts from the columns it updates, (columns update) but the charts do not update on their own. As the data automatically updates RTD in columns, how do i get the charts to automatically update.

I have charts that will automatically update if you enter a value in a columns/cell manually, but this data is imported automatically from RTD.

This one? Not in Calc. Use Excel instead.

There are similar features in this office suite but they work platform independently in different ways.
