This isn't a "security" Forum. But I would be interested to know what Security Software you use; Primarily:
*Firewall

Re: What Security Software do you use?
No need, I use GNU/Linux
Well, there is a Netfilter layer as firewall. But I also have a router. And that's all.
Note that Comodo has been reported several times as a root cause for installation issues:
- Getting Writer to run
- Registration wizard.
- [Solved] OpenOffice does not start on windows vista
- [Solved] Error 1935 on install?

Re: What Security Software do you use?
I use one of the most robust and stable antivirus, antispyware, etc options out there... Linux in combination with a router firewall.

Re: What Security Software do you use?
On my Windows machine i use AVG as my virus scanner and, usually, adaware against spyware. However, since i do my surfing with Opera i don't really get any.
For my firewall i used to use cygate untill, tragically, Norton bought it. Now i just use the stock windows firewall.

Re: What Security Software do you use?
I use:
- Avira AntiVir Personal - FREE Antivirus
Very satisfied with that one. Does not use much system resources and automatic updates work very well. - Sunbelt Personal Firewall (former Kerio Personal Firewall)
It allows very detailed control over the system, therefore it requires quite some technical knowledge to configure it in the way that it runs smoothly without giving too many alarms. - Microsoft Windows Defender
Yes, believe it or not, I deliberately use MS software.
But I think it has quite a good concept.
OOo 3.0.1 & DEV-3.1 • WinXP pro 32-bit + SP3 + current patches

Re: What Security Software do you use?
If you want to tinker and test before committing to a dual boot, try whatever Linux you pick in VirtualBox first... or try several That way you can test out the whole Linux thing without risk to your existing/familiar install of WinXP.Georgia Boy wrote:Thinking about going to Linux as a dual boot.
There are many Linux distributions to pick from, and EVERYONE will have their favorite for differing reasons. Best of all, most, if not all mainstream Linux distributions come with OpenOffice.org already installed and ready to go. It is worth noting that some distribution's versions of OpenOffice.org are... less than they should be.... so keep that in mind and, at the very least, update to the latest release in your selected Linux distribution's software repository.
