[Solved] Submitting Ideas for OpenOffice Usability [nearly]

Post by utrageeky »

I have an idea that will improve Open Office's friendliness, where do I submit it for review for inclusion in the next Open Office?

I've looked at the Projects page for Open Office but it seems I'd need to join the team which isn't really something I want to do. I just want to let the right people know about my idea and be recognized as the idea's originator except should it already have been suggested; and nowhere else on the openoffice.org website seems to allow for idea submission either which is why I've posted here.

Idea Two: Why doesn't this website have an Ideas Submission forum?

-> [Tutorial] Reporting bugs or suggestions.

Thanks to add '[Solved]' at beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

That link, although entitled "Reporting Bugs or Suggestions" leads to a page that is for reporting and reviewing bugs. At least, I didn't see anything pertaining to idea suggestion.

If you don't believe it, see the additional links given at the end of the post.

The only mechanisms for communicating with the people who make decisions about OOo are the mailing lists and the "Issue" tracking system, which tracks bug reports and enhancement requests.

You can always post your idea here--it will preserve a record of it for you, and someone here may know (or can check by a search) whether the idea has come up before.

Thank-you Hagar de l'Est and Acknak, I will put my idea to the developers via the mail lists. I hope it's implimented because it will make my (and others) life so much easier.

Once I've submitted it, I'll post details here.

Again, thank-you.
