Image control (crop function)

Post by Mark75 »

Whit my previous used writing program (Microsoft Word) it was possible to "crop" an inserted image (see attached file for example).
I didn't found this function into Writer. Into WORD this function was inserted into Drawing toolbar
Could you please help me ?

Please remember to search the forum before posting new topics. This has been discussed before, sometimes at length, but you would have found your answer just by searching for "crop".

Anyway, there is a nice little crop extension available here, that does what you're looking for:
CropOOo 0.2.0
Cheers!

Look for the crop tool in its own little toolbar.

Click on the image to select it, then click the crop tool. You will see a cyan blue outline around the image. Drag the border just like you would to resize the image, then press Enter to complete the crop. Please note that this does not actually change the image; the whole image file is still there. It just reduces the "footprint" you see in the document.
Edit: Also, I'm very sorry, I gave you a link to an older version. Here's the newer one: CropOOo 0.2.1
Cheers!

You should ask the extension owner, AlicVB, whose contact information is on the main CropOOo page (which they should have linked to, in the 0.2.1 download page).
Cheers!
