I'm new to this...
I have downloaded and installed Oo, and put in my Program Files folder. However, my Desktop has the folder & icon for Oo Installation Files. Question is, do I need to keep the Installation Files? If I need to keep them, where is the best place to put them - I don't want to have them permanently on my Desktop. If I don't need to keep them, do I just move them into the Recycle Bucket? Looking at Add/Delete Programs, I only see the entire Oo program, and I sure don't want to delete the whole thing!
Thanks for any help!

Is it necessary to keep the Installation Files ???
Re: Is it necessary to keep the Installation Files ???
If downloading OOo is a problem for you, you may want to hang on to the downloaded installer-packaged file, as it's not unusual to need to re-install OOo if certain problems come up later on.
Otherwise, you can just delete the downloaded package and the installation folder left on the desktop. Use whatever method you like to delete them.

Just move the folder from your desktop to the recycle bin. This does not affect your OOo installation.

What acknak said is exactly what I was going to say, with this difference:
You can just delete that folder on your desktop; those are the installer files. They themselves are not installed, just unpacked.
