Open Document Image format

Post by djay »

Hello all

I'm helping to test an application and I need a help with finding an example of an ODI formatted file.
I've been searching for the sample of a file in ODI format but couldn't find one or create one. It is a
part of an OASIS spec and should be supported by Open Office, but it seems that OOO doesn't support
it.

I'm using OOO 2.4 on Linux and 2.3.x on Windows. Any ideas where I can find the file?

Thanks

Why not create you own? The default extension for drawings is .odg.

This is the first I've ever heard of "Open Document Image format". There seems to be no explicit support for it (either export or save) in either 2.4.1 or 3.0 (beta).

I wonder if this is something meant to be similar to MS' "XPS" format: a "PDF in XML" kind of thing?

Ok, those are nice references, but they don't provide much information beyond confirming that the document type exists.

I'm still curious to know what it is, and (along with the OP) whether there's any application support for it.

So, is it just an XML file? An ASCII?

The other ODF variants are zip-archives with several XML files (mainly meta data, styles and contents).

You can see the content of the file by adding a .zip at the end of the filename.
