Hyperlinks not working

Post by alcalc »

I'm trying to create hyperlinks between pages of a Draw document.

When exported as .pdf, the hyperlinks are not working.

After opening the .pdf file, when I click on the hyperlink, I'm getting this message:

"This document is trying to connect to:
file:///F:/1.odg%23page2

If you trust this site, choose Allow. If you do not trust this site, choose Block."

if I select "Allow", nothing is happening.

Suggestions greatly appreciated.

This should be a simple straight forward thing, but seems that is not.

Thanks!

Greetings and welcome to the community forum!

The pdf links work for me. It's hard to guess where the problem may be.

In the Draw document, does the hyperlink target/address include a complete path? For links within the same document, it needs only something like #Slide 2

Here's sample document you can try:

OK - maybe the problem is with Acrobat Reader? because, yes the hyperlinks works in oo draw, but when export the .pdf and click on the hyperlink, even though I "Allow", still nothing happens.
Attached the exported .pdf

Your pdf doesn't work for me either (Evince pdf viewer). It links to a full path/file#slide which doesn't exist on my system.

I think you need to remove the path in the hyperlink dialog and click "apply". When you hover the mouse over the link in the Draw document, it should show only "#Slide 2" or whatever the slide is named.

Thanks for your help. I did remove the path, and the hyperlink says just "#Slide1", but still no success. The .pdf still cannot jump from page 1 to page 2. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Here's the pdf I made--it works with evince:
I'm revisiting this topic from 2014 as I'm getting a similar problem with Impress and exporting to PDF.
When I create Hyperlinks within the slides in Impress, links of type "Button" and "Text" both work as intended when clicking on them in Impress.
e.g. slide 1 has a text hyperlink to slide 42.
e.g. slide 2 has a button hyperlink to slide 43.
Hyperlinks of type "Text" get exported successfully into PDF and work as intended when viewing in the PDF. e.g. in the PDF the hyperlink on page 1 redirects to page 42 correctly.
However hyperlinks of type "Button" get exported to PDF, but when clicking on them in PDF a dialog box opens warning of a security issue "This document is trying to connect to ..." and gives the path of my Impress doc. Even if you click Allow in the warning dialog it doesn't allow the link to open. Completely stuck.
Is there any newer information on this issue/bug?
