My file has been replaced with the # key

Hello everyone,

This is desperate now, this is an extremely important document that I was too stupid not to backup, well, I did backup however this was after Windows updated since I wanted to continue it on my Mac. This document determines if I stay on my college course or not. And well, when I opened it after Windows updated itself, I was presented with this...

Yes I have done some troubleshooting and no, not one automatic backup was saved! Can any of you guys help just in case there is some way of recovering it? If you can then I greatly, and I mean really greatly appreciate it if you can, since you're able to save me place on the course. Next time I will be smart enough to actually back up the file properly!

Sadly, quite nothing to do, see: 22 pages term paper replaced with pound signs.

Check the temporary folder of the system (see in OOo Tools>Options>OOo>Paths). If there are folders like sgmlf.tmp with a file having the same name inside, make a copy of that file, rename it in .odt and cross your fingers. If you have not rebooted, you might have those files still there.

Yeah that's the topic I saw, I posted this one in an attempt to see if it was recoverable just by chance, anyway, no need to worry anymore, I have started writing it again extremely fast, it won't get the grade I was expecting but at least I won't fail.

If you are using Windows 7, try right-clicking the file and selecting "Restore previous versions".
