After recovery i lost my 60 days effort

Post by dradelelgd »

i used the writer for making a file in arabic language
the file was a translation of FDA code
i'm using win 8 and a kind of problem happened in the windows while i was using the file so i restarted and when reopened the file it asked for recovery and when i accepted to recover the data the file asked for " ASCII filter properities"
i chose different items each time and always i find my letters gone hash tags even the english letters in the file
i need to recover my letters

the file:

The file only contains zeros, its content is forever lost. Search on your disk for a file with the same name but another extension, you may have a backup copy. Also look at [Tutorial] The OOo user profile.

Sadly, quite nothing to do, see: 22 pages term paper replaced with pound signs.
The file seems indeed empty.

Check the temporary folder of the system (see in OOo Tools>Options>OOo>Paths). If there are folders like sgmlf.tmp with a file having the same name inside, make a copy of that file, rename it in .odt and cross your fingers. If you have not rebooted, you might have those files still there.

As thomasjk said, always backup. More important, find out why (and cure) your computer''s instability.
