[Solved] PDF Import Extension

Post by chideock »

I have PDF Import Ext 2.1.0 installed on OO4.01 on my Win7 computer. This is a new install.
When trying to open a PDF I get "General Error, General Input Error/Output Error".

What do I need to do to fix this?
Thanks

Can the file you are trying to import open correctly in Adobe Reader?

Yes it does. I have tried several files, all open in reader, but I get the message as stated above in OO. OO and the PDF Ext are new installs on my win 7 computer.

It is certainly failing for me also; I have another version on another computer that did work with OO 4.0. I'll look for it after dinner, but it may have been erased in a tidy-up.

Try
http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/node/17351
which is the "This extension" link on the PDF download page.
It has just worked OK for me (but very slow!) with a file the 2.1.0 extension blew up on.

How about that - aoo-pdf-import-0.1.0-windows-x86.oxt worked in OO 4.01 on my win7. The pdf file opened in Draw. Obviously pdf-import-2.1.0-windows-x86.oxt has a bug!

This is solved in the sense that I have a workable PDF import albeit the beta version.

pdf-import-2.1.0 has been withdrawn for running repairs. OO 4.0 Users should note the special link on the pdf extension page in the repository for the version appropriate to their system.
