This is my situation. I have OpenOffice on my Windows 7 Home Premium notebook computer; it has been running excellently. However, both the hardware & the OS for this system is quite fragile at this time, so rather soon I will be buying a cheap tablet computer as an emergency device while I scrub through all the problems (one of the problems is not being able to run chkdsk as it hangs, so I'm probably just going to bite the bullet and reformat and start from scratch there. (I will have everything backed up as either document files or install files.)
Anyway, this could take some time, and I may have the need to access some of my OpenOffice files. It seems that there is no OpenOffice for Android (which will probably be the OS of the tablet), so I am in a quandary as how to access these files. And as all of these files all in the various OpenOffice formats, I don't want to have to save these files as standard Micro$oft Office files.
What do you recommend I do? If there were some online "cloud" based system on webpage that I could access, in which I would upload the file I want to access, and just do it through my browser, that would work fine.
Would like to view OpenOffice documents on my tablet - how?

Can you use a pdf? That should be fine if you just need to read/view the documents.

I don't want to spend the time to make a pdf of all the files.

Use the MultiFormatSave extension:I don't want to spend the time to make a pdf of all the files.
http://extensions.libreoffice.org/exten ... ultisave-1

Otherwise, there is a newly developed version of the AOO for Android:
