I feel like I'm going crazy.
My ultimate goal is to split my database. Instructions here http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/FAQ_(Base)#HSQLDB and, much more excitingly, here http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/vi ... 83&t=61183 start with variations on the instructions, "Open the Tools > Options dialog."
I'm using OO 3.4.1, HSQLDB 1.8.0.10, on Mac OS X v. 10.7.5, and when I click "Tools" there's no "Options" dialog. I'm attaching screenshots for your amusement.

Apparently the Options dialog is accessed differently on a Mac.

On a mac the menu is under OpenOffice.org -> Preferences. Or so I have read.
