Document shows only signs like #########

Post by emustu »

Hi I have a big problem. I wrote a 20 pages paper with OO. When I want to open the file an so called "ASCII Filter" appears asking me about language, the form of the letters etc. I click OK and it opens my file showing just a lot of "#######"s.
I tried to look on Options --> Path --> Temporary, but I could not find it! There was no security file automatically produced.
Also, I tried to open it with other programs , and it didn't work.

So can anyone please help me??I have to submit the paper next week and I really don't know what to do :(

Thanks a lot!

emustu welcome to the forum.

I am afraid the file is corrupt beyond repair.
You do have a backup don't you? If not, I am afraid you will have to re-write it again.

Your file looks to be unrecoverable. Sorry.

If there is no folder like sgmlf.tmp with a file having the same name inside, then the file is definitively lost, sorry.
Any power shortage or anything special?
