Greek menu headings

Post by jdriver »

Hello,

I have a user who when launching oo calc, has what appears to be Greek letters for his heading menu. From troubleshooting this, the problem is isolated to his acccount, because when I login to his machine and launch the same application, it's in English. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Thanks!

If your login, using a different User name, does not show the problem, then almost certainly deleting or renaming _his_ User Profile will cure the problem.
Tutorial: the User Profile

You should check that he has no national language characters in his login name.

I thought the same thing, RoryOF, however that was the first thing I tried, moving his .openoffice.org directory to .openoffice.org.bak, and then restarting OpenOffice. Same thing still happens, still getting the Greek headings.

It might be to do with the Language settings in /Tools /Options /Languages. I'd compare yours and his and match then to yours.

This may help: [Solved] Language is Greek in menus.

Please add '[Solved]' at the beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.
