Can't access Aoo help menus

I had an older version of OpenOffice and noticed the help files couldn't be accessed. I uninstalled the older version, and installed the above 3.4.1 to no avail.....the help files still not accessible. I tried it the second time....no luck (see my screenshot attachment, ).

Problem: when clicking on any help item in list on the left, the right blank screen remains blank, and flashes a milli-second.
I uninstalled all Java programs, and installed Java (Oracle) 1.7.0_17 with no success. "Use a Java runtime Environment" is selected in the Tools - Options - Java. I explored going back to an ealier Java version, but had no luck.
Any help will be appreciated.

Try to reset your OpenOffice user profile.
NB: I've replaced your document by the screenshot itself, it's more straightforward.

Thanks for your quick response.
Per the user profile reset instructions, I created the new user folder, and help files still were not accessible. I the renamed "extensions.pmap" in the bundled folder with no success. The file "extensions.db" does not exist in my bundled folder. Any more suggestions will be appreciated .

I tried this fix regarding zoom factors, etc, but it didn't work either. Hopefully, there is a solution out there.
