[Solved] Path change for templates not accepted

Post by Etymologist »

Hi,

I moved my template folder from one path to another, and changed the path accordingly in Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org - Paths - Templates. But when I open a new text document, AOO complains that the old template path doesn't exist and can't find my standard template. How can I make it accept the change?

Thanks,
Monica

You may have to import the templates again with the File>Templates>Organize dialog.
But not 100% sure, I've never tried such modification.

Please add '[Solved]' at the beginning of your first post title (edit button) if your issue has been fixed.

It looks like the template path is recorded in the documents linked to the template:
  • <meta:template xlink:type="simple" xlink:actuate="onRequest" xlink:title="ebook"
    xlink:href="../../../.openoffice.org/3/user/template/ebook.ott"
    meta:date="2012-11-16T10:56:33"/>
The path includes the OOo profile location. Moving the template seems bound to break the link.

Many thanks, that was a good idea to import the template again in the organize dialog. It did the trick.
