Hi guys.
I have recently had a problem with one of my files. I was working on a file and then suddenly my laptop switched off due to a faulty charger. When i fixed the charger and tried to enter the file that i was halfway through finishing, it came up with a Text Import screen with a variety of character set choices such as unicode and arabic.
Is my file well and truly screwed or is there an option i can choose that will restore the file to its former self? Should i try system recovery?
Thanks!
File always opening with Text Import.

But quite nothing to do I think, see: 22 pages term paper replaced with pound signs.
What OS by the way? You should tell it in your forum signature.
Vista has some feature for shadow copies of files IIRC.
Check the temporary folder of the system (see in OOo Tools>Options>OOo>Paths). If there are folders like sgmlf.tmp with a file having the same name inside, make a copy of that file, rename it in .ods and cross your fingers.
I think there are less reports about such problems, upgrading to AOO 3.4.1 may help.
