I have always found it best to remove all traces of LibreOffice or a distro version of OpenOffice (some years ago) before installing Apache or Oracle OpenOffice. This I did by using Synaptic to remove libreoffice-core, which removed the other LibreOffice components. If you wish to run Apache OpenOffice in parallel with LibreOffice, this method won't work.
