[Solved] OO 3.4.1 and Mac

Post by louk1 »

I downloaded and installed new 3.4.1 on my Mac Mountain Lion. When I went to open files, message said: "OpenOffice.org.app can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App store and identified developers. Safari downloaded this file today at 12:07 PM from source forge.net". Tried everything to change security, but can't find anything related to the above statement I tried to reload 3.4.0, but all I can get on the web is 3.4.1.

I am effectively out of business for today and maybe the weekend. 3.4.0 would get me up and running again, or is there another fix? My business is "LJK Publishing". Without OO, there is no publishing. As an aside, once this is fixed, should I go away from Safari to maybe Chrome or Firefox?

Thank you for your help.

"If you’re sure the app is safe, you can manually override Gatekeeper by Control-clicking the app and choosing to open it."
