[Solved] Second Link to the Base Tutorial doesn't work

Post by rudolfo »

The Link on the Base Forum to the Base Tutorial on /en/forum/viewforum.php?f=97 on the same user.services.openoffice.org host runs into two redirects and finally fails with a 404 status:

Code: Select all

http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewforum.php?f=97     ==> 302 Redirect
http://user.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewforum.php?f=83              ==> 302 Redirect
http://www.openoffice.org/projects/user/en/forum/viewforum.php?f=83 ==> 404 Not found
But it is not a problem of the tutorial forum for Base, because if I go first to the page with all Tutorials and follow the Link to Base from there (http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... m.php?f=83) I get to the right location.
Obviously forum Id 97 is something different then forum Id 83.

There are several macro languages in OOo, but none of them is called Visual Basic or VB(A)! Please call it OOo Basic, Star Basic or simply Basic.

I tried to change it from the admin control panel, but the change does not seem to take effect when I load (or re-load) the Application > Base page. Either I'm looking at the wrong page or the page is cached somewhere.

The good url to put in the configuration is: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... m.php?f=83 (the actual address of the Base tutorial forum). I've fixed it.
In fact the link that appears when your mouse hovers the hyperlink in the Base forum is somewhat misleading, it's not the target, it's the name of the link. Since the target is inside the forum, it has the same structure than the target.
Look at the first link: name is http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/ ... m.php?f=82 but target is http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Database

NB: but no idea why the second link was wrong!

Thanks, Hagar for fixing it.
I am pretty sure the link was working for quite a long time, but I have absolutely no clue since when it started to show this strange behavior.
Might be since 4 days or even since 2 weeks or so.
