Re: different language version
Install additional language packs from http://www.openoffice.org/download/other.html#tested-lp
Then restart the office and choose your user interface language in Tools>Options>LanguageSettings>Languages

installed the chinese version on my english version windows 7
seems to be all right
just wondering if it is possible to have another language user interface at the same time,
then easier to understand what everyone's saying when surfing the forum
but it wont allow me to install the english version when the chinese one already exist though

Re: different language version
You can install comparatively small languages packs and switch between languages which requires a restart the office.

Re: different language version
If you wish for several languages, it might be premature to change to Apache OpenOffice 3.4. as at present OpenOffice 3.3 has a wider selection of languages/language packs available. The languages and language packs for AOO 3.4 will increase in number as the difficulties associated with the code transition from Oracle are ironed out. More language packs should be available in AOO 3.4.1 projected for end of July.

Re: different language version
Just to clarify, highrun178, you install the English language pack to use with your existing version; you do not install an English version.
