Clipboard with multiple items

Post by marol »

In Office Word there is a clipboard which holds up to 24 separate items to be pasted when desired. Does Open Office have a similar ciipboard which holds multiple separate unlinked items for later pasting? I do see that there is a way to link multiple items, but I need to be able to pick up and paste separately. (This one factor meant I couldn't use OO some years back.)

No there isn't; there are utilities which add that functionality to Windows (Google will help find these). However, be aware that these sometimes interfere with OpenOffice's Copy/Paste functionality.

Here's a simple workround.....

Working in Draw, for example, I open a new page and on it I place all the items which I want to paste into existing pages. You can put anything you like on the new page and just treat it like a clipboard you can actually see.

Using the facility in Windows 10 to split the screen, I store the new page on the right of the screen (or left, it's up to you).

Next, I open the existing page on the other side of the screen and simply copy and paste items off the new page into the existing page.

Works for me!
