[Solved] tables disappear when upgrade from OO 2.2 to 2.3

Post by bluebird »

Hi, I just upgraded from 2.2 to 2.3 and I am having lots of problems with my tables.

They show up but when I try to make a modification to the structure of one table all the tables suddenly disappear.

Before this happens, I also can only add new fields but I can not edit the old fields.

I tried dumping them out with SCRIPT in Tools-SQL and then trying to recreate them.

But even so, I can still not edit the old fields in the table structure.

I tried going back to 2.2, and this made it worse.

So then, I got the idea to explore "complete uninstall" to remove any vestiges of previous installations.

After removing the program in the control panel,

I went to

c:\program files\ and deleted all openoffice folders

and then to the hidden folder

"c:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data"

and deleted "OpenOffice.org2"

cleared recycle bin

Then I restarted and installed 2.3

After many hours of problem solving, it now it works again.

Good thing because I was about to crawl back to M$ Access with my tail between my legs.

Credit goes to this website that provided me with the details to do the complete uninstall

Cheers.
