Multiple forms per page

Post by Steveatlov »

1099s have 2 forms (8.5 x 5.5) to a physical page (8.5 x 11). I want to do a mail merge of data to print the 1099 forms. The mail merge works but it prints 1 form per page. What is the setting(s) to print 2 forms per physical page? I can do this in MS Words. What is the equivalent process in OpenOffice? Thanks for your help.

/ File / Print / Page layout tab select 2 pages per sheet.

Thnx for tip but it is not working properly. I am testing with printing just 3 forms. When viewing the pages thru "print preview", all pages seem to be ok. The pages seem to be aligning to 8.5 x 5.5 size. However, when it is printed, the logical page height of 5.5" doesn't hold. Logical page #2 doesn't start at the 5.5" boundary. It is printing on page 1. Logical Page 3 seems to be ok - it prints on a new physical page. Is there another setting that must be set up?

In haste: you may need to change printer page orientation to Landscape (Properties on / File / Print)

If I get time tomorrow (Tuesday) I'll try such a print on one of my printers (all now asleep) and note the settings.

I tried on one of my printers (Samsung SCX4720). It appears as if the printer driver is ignoring the landscape setting for the printer page and placing the two small images on a portrait page, side by side. Try instead ticking the Brochure checkbox on the Layout page, and not selecting to print two pages.

I tried what you suggested but it is not working either.

I have tried both Landscrape and Portrait options and neither option works. I am trying to print the 1099's which comes 2 logical forms (8.5 wide by 5.5 high) per physical page (8.5 x 11). My font size is set to 10 and I want it to print 6 lines to an inch.

When I print, the actual printing seems to print at about 7.9 lines to an inch and at a reduced font size. This is causing the forms to print in compressed mode. What settings control the font size and lines per inch? If Open Office can't do it, I would like to know so I stop wasting your time and my time. FYI, MS Words works perfectly.

Thanks

Try the brochure option.

I tried the brochure option but it doesn't work either. What is the setting to control how lines per inch?
