JRE 7(32) is out for download but installing it does not show up in Options/Java (1.7.0)?

As I have seen somewhere, Jave 7 is not for general use at the moment, but rather so that developers can introduce its new capabilities.

JRE7 (1.7.0) is officially the latest recommended version available from Java.com
Why not just enable it in LO and if people see a problem it takes exactly 1 mouse click to switch JRE - what's the problem?
I've JRE7 32/64 both installed and activated as well as JRE6/32 and have not seen any issues yet.
