Startup issues

Post by dflat »

I have two identical Dell workstations running RHEL 5.3, Open Office 3.3.0 x86_64. On system 1 I can run Open Office as my self and root but on station 2 I can only run it as root. My home account is on an NFS mount so both systems will be in my home account when I log in. I have removed the .lock file that is left when open office does not start. But these are local installs because -net does not work with the x86_64 file. Thoughts?

You need to check exactly how identical the two stations are, in terms of what is installed on one and not the other. Another approach might be to clone the "good" installation onto the "bad" machine
