Can You Import User Settings from OpenOffice.org 3.3?

Post by DrowVampyre »

Hi, I've been using OpenOffice for awhile, but would like to switch over to LibreOffice since it seems to have a faster development schedule. However...I'd really like to copy all my OpenOffice settings (colors, default formats, default display, etc.) without having to go through each individual setting changing them manually. Is there a way to do this, and if so, how?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

As a rough solution, you could run LibO (including quickstarter) then close it and make a copy of the former OOo profile and rename it with the name of the LibO profile.

I've never tried however...

I tried doing that (or, well, copying the "user" folder) but it didn't work, so I'm not sure if I missed some files or what...

Then you can't. Try with sub-folders. It should work for simple things autocorrect and wordbook.
