[Solved] Topic icons

Post by huw »

Why do some forums allow setting a topic icon for a new thread, and not others?

Permissions issue on the forums.

As we had said at the beginning that icons wouldn't be allowed, I remove them were they still are.

I can understand not allowing pointless emoticons, but why not at least the (i) information icon? I can't remember what other choices there were, so maybe more. e.g. the (i) icon shows that it is not a question, and can be ignored on the unanswered post list, and makes them easier to find visually too.

I don't know, I let Drew answer. I guess that we've a set of icons and it's either the whole package or nothing. If there is the possibility to reduce the number of icons, then, it can be indeed useful. Even if global announcements have already their own icon for example.
